As a Sierra Leonean citizen, you have the right to access public services without offering or paying bribes. This right is granted by the Constitution of Sierra Leone.
The Pay No Bribe reporting platform targets bribery and corruption in five service sectors: Education, Electricity, Health, Police and Water. Some services do have a legitimate fee or cost attached. You can see the legitimate fees and cost of specific services the in Service Charters, by clicking on the link/icon under each sector.
As a service user, you have rights to access the following services without having to pay bribes:
HEALTH: All public health services under the Free Healthcare Initiative are free at the point of access in government facilities throughout the country. You do not have to pay for any service offered under the Free Health Care initiative.

EDUCATION: Education services such as pre-school education, primary education and Junior Secondary School education is free. Other services has Government approved user fees attached.

POLICE: All public services offered by the Sierra Leone Police are free. These include bail, police reports, case investigations and management. You do not have to pay bribes for any of these services.

ELECTRICITY: The Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) offers services in relation to distribution and supply of electricity including electricity bills, meter replacements, electricity connections and reconnections. These may involve legitimate fees, but you do not have to pay bribes for any of these services.

WATER: Guma Valley Water Company (GVWC) in Freetown and Sierra Leone Water Company (SalWaCo) in the provincial districts offers all water related services such as tap installations, water rates, water connections and reconnections. These may involve legitimate fees, but you do not have to pay bribes for any of these services.
